Here at Empowering The Poor (ETP), we are firm believers that you can make a difference no matter how old you are. Whether you’re 4 or 100 years old, all you need is a big heart and the passion to help. We’re on a mission to build and operate a PreK12 school that will serve children from 9 impoverished villages in northern Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. Kids in America like you are going to change forever the lives of the kids in those villages in Africa. It starts with you! Ask your school principal to make your elementary, middle, or high school a sister school of the Pre-K12 PanAfrican School Tongon.
BECOME A SISTER SCHOOL TO THE PANAFRICAN SCHOOL OF TONGON
As a sister school of the Pre-K12 PanAfrican School of Tongon, you will:
Develop a lifelong friendship with children of your age and grade level
communicate, visit the school, and meet the students from these villages during our summer service trips.
You will learn about Africa and the cultural values of these 9 villages
You will collaborate in uncovering knowledge in core subject areas such as Math, science, and social studies.
Spread awareness about the educational crisis in the nine villages of Tongon, Pougnbe, etc.
Organize a 5 K Run/Walk, a Father-Daughter/ Mother-Son Dance at your school, birthday pledge, Step Dance show, at your school to raise funds.
Start your own creative fundraising event and page using the resources available on our website.
Because of your sisterhood with the Panafrican School of Tongon, generosity, and fundraising efforts:
kids of your age will not walk 10-20 miles to go to school and return home.
kids of your age in those 9 villages will no longer be beaten by their teachers simply because they do not know their timetable
as our school will not practice corporal punishment.
kids of your age in those 9 villages will have flush toilets and gender-based restrooms at their school.
kids with a disability will no longer be excluded from school. They will receive a quality education like you receive in America.
